BOARD MEMBERS

 

Wayne Hyde – Director Vanguard Military School and Chairman of the Advisory Board. Wayne grew up in Horotiu and left secondary school as a second year 5th former with no academic qualifications. He joined the Airforce at 17 as an Aircraft Technician and during his 20 year service completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Massey University. He then worked at what is now AUT for 2 years before being appointed as Trade Training Officer for the Royal New Zealand Navy. Whilst there he completed his MA Degree at Auckland University. He left the Navy in 2000 to purchase what is now Advance Training Centres. Wayne has had a passion for learning and education since he was engaged in training for the RNZAF in 1977.

Jonathan Gale – Jonathan was posted for a year of National Service initially at the Artillery Air Defence School at Youngsfield and then to 10 Anti-aircraft Regiment in Cape Town. Jonathan is the Vicar of St Peter's Anglican church in Takapuna. He has worked as a secondary school teacher, subject advisor, senior education specialist, project manager in the education and health sectors in the world of development banking, investment advisor in the Tertiary Education Commission and as an Industry Manager for Competenz. He has been a member of various education and community advisory boards and is a keen mountain biker.

Katene Eruera -  Katene is an Anglican Minister and Dean of Tikanga Maori at The College of St John the Evangelist in Auckland, helping train candidates for ordination, as well as those undergoing further advanced training.  Prior to Anglican Ministry he worked as a solicitor in Wellington and Auckland, practising in the areas of criminal, family and Treaty of Waitangi claims law. He is from Te Aupouri, Ngati Kuri, Ngati Kaharau and Ngati Hau in Te Tai Tokerau.
